I had a chance meeting with good friend and musician Dan Lambert last week and I am eternally grateful.
He was on his way to have his photograph taken in Penarth by a student photographer for a portrait project about Cardiff musicians.
At first I was reluctant to go because I had stacks to do but I’m so glad I did because I met Gareth Jarvis.
Gareth is nearing the end of his photography degree and has an inspiring and absolute love for the art of photography.
I was in awe of his passion and knowledge of the process of printing and reproducing his work.
That afternoon he produced some stunning wet plate collodion prints (above) and for me brought back the magic and the reason why I got into photography.
I’m so glad to announce that he’s going to produce some work for the BigLittleCity project and has offered to talk about the process when we organise seminars during the exhibition period.
