Much of my photographic work is concerned with immigration and it’s effects on people and land, namely the displacement
of individuals and communities. Immigration is often highly politicized and the subject raises a number of complex arguments relating to
economics, health, security, national identity, the provision of services, religion, race and integration. I produced portraits that reflect these ideas whilst simultaneously illustrating transition and freedom. The work submitted to Big Little City consists of portraits taken
of individuals who have come to Cardiff from outside of the European Union within the last 5 years.
